After more than a year of consultation across Ontario’s education sector, ECNO is proud to launch its 2026–2028 Strategic Plan.

This plan reflects the voices of our members, partners, and leaders, and sets a bold direction for the future of educational technology in Ontario.

The development process included facilitated planning discussions with the Board of Directors, ECNO Advisory Committee (EAC) and Technical Advisory Committee (ETAC), anecdotal input from IT leaders, insights from ERDI meetings, and feedback from an online member survey.

Together, these perspectives shaped a plan that is both responsive and ambitious; a “living document” that will draw on analysis, measurement and feedback to be reviewed and adjusted over its three year span as the needs of ECNO members and Ontario K-12 students evolve.

Our revised Vision, Mission, and Values emphasize proactive leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, and collaboration. They reaffirm ECNO’s commitment to delivering high-quality services at exceptional value, while guiding and supporting Ontario’s school boards through challenges and opportunities in technology.

The Strategic Plan outlines three clear goals:

  • Enhance Governance and Operational Effectiveness – strengthening advocacy, embedding DEI, and ensuring financial stewardship.
  • Deliver Responsive Cost-Effective Programs and Services – advancing AI practices, championing cybersecurity, and evolving services.
  • Strengthen Engagement with the ECNO Community – building vendor partnerships, expanding networks, and fostering member-driven collaboration.

We invite you to explore the full plan and join us in shaping the future of technology leadership for Ontario’s schools.
